Yo!
Hiroshima style war game is over
I stopped radiation yesterday. I did 10 of the 15 suggested treatments.
What started happening is that my skin on my head started turning into a sunburn type act and then I figured no more. Some extra brain cells must have been wiped out as well as teeny tumors blown apart that turns into brain debris that stays in there probably slowing me down.
The doc was great and basically stated it's a quality of life vs trying to squeeze every last second of life. It's a personal call.
So now my brain will be receiving overflow radiation for about a month [i think]
My throat, coughing, and voice was getting to the point where I couldn't talk on the phone except in a wisper without coughing violently and having to drop the conversation. This toasted throat should take 1 or 2 weeks to somewhat heal up [i think]. I was told to just do whatever I have been doing to ease the coughing so far.
With no radiation today I definately felt better. That zapping beat the S___ out of me.
The treatment was two 10 second blasts with a light show inside your head. I decribe it to friends like if you were laying in bed sleeping on your back and someone walked in and turned on bright celing lights you would be able to see the bright lights while you were waking up. That's close to same deal.
Steroids 4x day is permantent till toes up. It's time for the next numbers game.
My cancer doc put himself in charge as the boss who will start visiting me weekly at home relating to "hospice" care and check up. He said I offer him a different kind of case that little information is available on. It may have something to wife message #1 stating "It's time you started figuring a new life without your husband." That act went down over 10 years ago.
This "hospice" care is a program that starts as soon as radiation is over. Right now I need nothing and starting to feel better. Most people in my position are a mess.
So........ I have to wait out this throat pia and see what's left of my brain in a month. I'll take inventory and run a few push tests to see how much I can get away with.
I'm pushing for a May 1 ride without modifing my act
