Time for a Revolution.

Damn right. Our system is f**ked up beyond belief. Any system that encourages people to treat marriage commitments as throwaway commodities and forces successful wage earners into near poverty to support leeching, do-nothing former spouses too lazy to work or look out for themselves (especially after claiming publicly their desire to be "independent") is just ridiculous. Add to it the unintended consequence of a generation of kids growing up with no example of anything even nearly resembling a nuclear family unit where parties set aside differences and cooperate for the common good and it's no wonder we're circling the drain morally.
The whole system is so deliberately set up and promulgated by second-rate profiteering lawyers it's disgusting. Thankfully the system is changing to embrace alternative dispute resolutions that are more cost effective and rely less on overpriced attorneys, but the core problem (no value placed on family or commitment) remains. As long as we continue to elect lawyers, the system is unlikely to change.
