Well, leaning towards no paint. Since those pics, I've dry sanded most of the
surface rust off places like engine lid and fenders and running boards and added more of the green etching primer like the roof has. So it's not really rusting that much now that I dry cleaned it. We'll see how it goes. If interested here's how I came by this car. I always wanted a street rod since seeing the "Shaggy Dog" movie from the 50's or 60's. There was a high boy hot rod in that movie (famous now) but I never had the mechanical ability to build one. Looked at lots of poorly done junk over the years. Just recently my grandfather-in-law (he and I share a grandson..my daughter/his son) came to me with this and offered it to me. He builds 2 or 3 a year and they are all great drivers and all similar.
I couldn't pass it up, and I love this car especially since the builder and I are connected somewhat. I gave him the Weld wheels to keep and added the
torque thrust D's and the Lecarra steering and called it finished. I've run it about 500 miles so far and love how it drives. Thanks for your interest.
