be careful about buying those "craft, handmade" toys. Many of them were actually made in a factory in China or elsewhere and could have lead paint. There are still true artisans in The States (and elsewhere) but not always. We went to Nashville, Indiana a few months ago. It is a noted artists colony and has a great shopping district. The draw is local artists and artisans making products in Central Indiana and making them available for sale. About 50% or more of the shops we went into many of the items had stickers showing them to be mass produced in China or India or elsewhere.
Do not trust an artisan who has no calluses on their hands! Trust a cow not a chemist.
