PF97 still exist. They're just slowly being phased out. I asked a friend in the parts biz what the deal what and he said PF is just not producing pads for certain sizes any longer. Also said if you order 10 sets, they'll make them up for you!

Agreed the PFC 06 supersedes the 97 and now the PFC08 is superseding the 06. OG racing is a great resource.

Suppliers who used to carry both the front pad size (45 pad designation) and rear pad size (31 pad designation) for 76-89 SC/Carrera are not showing the rear pads for a lot of different brands. That's troubling.

For autocross I would think something like Hawk HPS would be a good choice. They're a step up from typical street pads and give good cold bit. Although OEM Textar, Jurid brand Porsche pads are VERY good pads. I would think they'd be plenty suitable for autocross. They can withstand road course use, I know that from experience. They don't last long but they still can manage without fading!
