One of my clients is moving back to the UK, and mentioned he had to get rid of a sailboat. What type, I asked?
McVay 18' Minuet.
I've loved them since I was a kid... a scaled down version of the Bluenose. The Minuet is a perfect small open sailboat. Light and forgiving, and easy to manage (both in & out of the water). There are only 2-3 of these boats locally, so I asked which one it is.
Turns out it's the exact boat I missed out on this spring, and kicked myself about all summer. Except now it's all cleaned up, debugged (stored for 5 years), and is $1000 less.
So basically, I had no defenses and bought it right then & there.
