That "cone" on the factory air box cover is a very highly developed piece. It acts as a velocity stack, and speeds the incoming air up. Putting anything else on is not going to make it faster, it will more than likely slow it down. Lots of dyno tests have proved that you cant improve your cover by drilling lots of holes in it, or swapping it out for one that sounds cool. Take the factory one  , deburr all the flashing marks on the inside of the cone, sand and polish.
