It's not hard to bring a motion for a new trial but it's hard to get one granted. Simpson had pretty high powered talent working for him at the trial. It's always easy to second guess someone's work after the trial, but if the lawyer did even a basically competent job - not even the best under the circumstances, just competent - he won't get a new trial based on inadequate representation. If he does win his motion for a new trial they'll probably let him out on bail if he has a good record in prison.
