Battery options
I have a 99 Carrera 6sp Coupe. I am the second owner.
What I have been dealing with for over two years is a good battery (checked everything including a hydrometer) that sometimes takes three or four tries to fire up the engine. I have never been stranded. The dash gauge while running shows 14 Volts.
I am going to eventually put another battery in.
Sometimes it is a little embarrasing leaving a friends' house even tho it will evertually start.
What happens is it will crank for a short period and then quit. I have to release the clutch and try again. It is worse in real hot (90 degrees on up at running temp, 200 degrees f).
I am thinking it just might be normal because I live in a hot climate. I don't know.
What battery fires up the engine every time? I will get one.
