CanAm this year was more like Rainfest 2012. As a “bad” driver, I wasn’t invited and I wouldn’t have gone anyway. Why? The golden days of CanAms are in the past, IMHO.
Both CanAm and Dan’s Monster Runs were really exiting but in the last couple years too many cars participate and the event looks more like a funeral procession. A string of Porsches attract attention especially when the “Pack Mentality” of irresponsible drivers takes over. Everybody has Cell phones and when idiots start racing, Police is called and the whole group is pulled over as has happened a few times......That's not for me.
I think the ideal size of a group is about 5-6 vehicles.
The disadvantage of setting fixed tour days means if it rains, you’re stuck. Being independent, I just pick days of sunshine and go. If you want to see pictures of Porsches driving in the rain, find the CanAm thread and have fun.
No more pix of Hawaii or Aruba because people know what beaches look like but may post some from Easter Island and Machu Picchu? Stay tuned.
Better yet, get out and drive.
