The .270 is a good round, but then so is the 7mm. Lots of great calibers out there, so just figure out what you are shooting at and go from there.

I have never seen a gun show here. We don't have them (in my area). I'm shooting whitetail on the wide open prairies. Wind rows spaced 1/4 to 1/2 mile apart. Deer bed down in the wind rows in the daytime. Shooting out to 600 yds. Using 150 Gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip and powder I'm getting out there at about 2800fps. I'm 0 @ 300 yds and drops -12" at about 400yds, That's about -30" @ 500yds
