Rear seat belts didn't appear in most 911s until 1978. However, the bolt holes for mounting the rear seat belts were incorporated into each chassis. Therefore, you can upgrade your pre-1978 Porsche with seat belts from the 1978 and later 911SCs. A common wear item on the rear seat belt is the plastic sleeve that the belt rides in. Unfortunately, the outside plastic sleeve is only replaceable if you purchase the entire rear seat belt assembly.
