Which wt do you use?
Which brand?
Why?

Does a different wt help a high mileage motor?

So many choices and suggestions.


I use 5-20 cheap-o synth in my Ford race car, 20-50 Castrol in the Porsche and it's time for an oil change in the high mileage Volvo ( 170k ). I forget what I used last. Whatever the parts desk guy suggested at the Volvo dealership.

My Ford F-350 diesel get's oil service every 3k at the dealership and I am embarrassed to admit, I have no idea what oil they are using. Delo 400? Who knows?

I'd like to hear some ideas and experiences on this.

Also some insight on the differences between wts would be helpful.
