Pelican's got a wonderful music thread for the lighter classic-rock side of tastes. Fits the Pelican demographic. I used to post there often but it was clear that my tastes in music were, um, different than a lot of other Pelicans. That's perfectly fine. Tastes are tastes.

I decided to start this thread to share my not-mainstream tastes in music with Pelicans with open minds and an ear for something heavier, modern, or just different.

I'll post a new tune every day, maybe more. Sometimes it will be just a song, sometimes a story or photos. Feel free to share or comment, but if it already fits with the other thread, please post it there.

And if you don't like it, just stop visiting. No need to be negative. Otherwise, thanks for having an open ear.....




This one should randomly set the tone and draw the line.

It's by the L.A. band, In This Moment. The lead singer was recently voted one of the hottest chicks in rock by Revolver Magazine. This single "Blood" has broken into the Top Ten of both Billboard's "Active Rock" and "Mainstream Rock". This video has over 2.7 million views in 7 months....not "Gangnam Style" but for this genre that's huge.

Maria Brink is actually a nice girl. Googled images of her could easily qualify for the chest thread. I actually like her voice, a lot. It's all an act, she's got great stage theatrics.

They'll be in town here in five weeks opening for Halestorm. Ironically, I plan to be in L.A.
