So I've decided to sell my 2000 Volvo V70 - it is nothing to write home about it.
It's black, it has a leather interior that is pretty beat up and it has some damage from a side swipe type situation that was there when I bought it. The wheels have become intimate with the curb often enough as well.
Mechanically though it is sound. It has good tires, runs well and has been well cared for in that regard by me in the time I have had it. The engine is strong and it passes smog easily (it's not THAT old). It has about 130k miles on it. I have put about 25k on it in the 4 or so years I have had it.
My concern is that cosmetically it's in pretty poor condition and I don't expect it to be an easy sell. My most pressing concern is the driver's seat is pretty tore up and I'm just wondering if I should fix it before I try to sell it. The leather repair isn't cheap - recovering it would be probably in around $500. My expectation of the car as is though is around $3000.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks.
