Like a couple of the previous posters, I've got the factory short shift, new bushings (coupler bushings are from Ed), Seine gate kit and fresh Kendall oil. The transmission is pretty fresh, about 9k since rebuild.
I've not recently driven a 915 that was totally stock, since my car had the short shift in it when I bought it, but I'd have to say that the factory short shift alone wasn't an impressive solution. None of my bushings were terrible, but fresh bushings and the Seine still made a world of difference. The Kendall smoothed the synchro operation just a touch. As noted above, it's still a 915, but it is a rather nice shifting example.
