the number nine is a major component of many numerical systems. if you take any part of the number 9 and its remainder, you have a multiple of the number 9, regardless of order: 7:2, 2:7, 4:5, etc. also if you add the digits of any multiple of the number 9, you will get 9. then, if you take the number nine and think of it as 3 and 6, but also 3 sixes, 3 sixes (666) add up to 18, which is the number 9 in disguise. anyway, the fun with the number 9 goes on and on.

as for other numbers, i like prime numbers. if i set my alarm to a minute number that isn't prime, i'll think about its prime derivatives until i am truly awake. thus, my alarm clock is always set to something like 05:07 or 05:11.

don't worry. you aren't the only one that thinks that i am nuts. my wife thinks i am completely off my rocker. toys in the attic, you might say.
Actually, that makes a lot of sense to me. It also freaks me out a little now that you point that out. I will be thinking about 9 for a while now.

Just that the things I bolded are the same thing just said backwards and forwards. The second way you said it was easier for me to understand, though.

I can understand the thing with the alarm clock and prime numbers. I try not to let my compulsions rule my behavior, but as far as times go I like the 09:00 hour, as in 09:11, 09:17, 09:56, etc. But I rarely up and about at 05:50AM so I need to allow for a 12 hour clock and not military time. Or just think that it is 5:50 am in Germany when it is 9:30 pm here.
