In retrospect, I would do what you suggested. My sunroof switch left the roof opened and I could not close it. At the time, I posted it on Rennlist but no one pointed out what you did. Then my window switch did the same but in a reversed way, had a hard time opening. I just changed the switches in all three times. I now did a search on Rennlist and apparently someone found the cause just like you did. http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/windowSW.htm The contact is worn beyond the toggling range of the switch hence no contact. I wonder if soldering to create a thicker contact patch will be a better fix. I am sure my driver's window will fail one day and I will try fixing it then.
