Like I mentioned, I found the contact arm hitting the body of the switch preventing it from making contact do to worn contact point.

As for soldering more material to that contact, probably not worth it. For one, solder is soft and two, you would probably just cause more damage with the heat needed. Unfortunately they did not use a better switch in this application. That is not to say we could not do a good fix with possibly an SCR, better switch or something but now we are getting into some engineering and design perhaps more than we need in this situation.
