re the comment on studies: Scientific studies will be published in a peer reviewed scientific journal (some govt. agencies have another layer of internal peer review before publishing in a journal, or putting out their own report - USGS is one example).
Some areas of inquiry are simply difficult to test: economics, political "science" (which claim to be science); even physics has one (string theory, aka string philosophy)
then you get into things like history, etc. which are liberal arts but still subject to various standards, tho their conclusions cannot be tested as in a science
But I suspect Kaos has some particular area of science in mind, so why not come out with it so this thread can got to PARF...
