Joe Bob is your trailer made with Plywood? If So why dont you consider glassing the corners? Installing the metal will create water traps underneigth and then there are the fastener wholes to let the water into the ply.

There was an era when boats got ply decks, then teak was glued and screwed down, This turned out not to be such a good plan.

Hate to see you drill a bunch of wholes in its now sealed skin.
