Quite a few years ago we visited a local Mexican eatery. I should have scheduled a colonoscopy for the next day as my body reacted as though I'd sucked down a gallon of EZ-Prep.
I called the health department and they later reported back that they'd had no other reports of problems from that restaurant that night. My wife and I had eaten the same foods all day so I figured the exposure had to have happened there.
After some consideration I think I figured out what happened. Spicy food had my nose dripping like a faucet. Went to the restroom and blew my nose using toilet paper. I'm guessing that in the process, I was infected by a little e-coli from the stall's prior customer. If only I'd known that dinner was going to be a rental... I'd have had that second basket of chips!
