I like it fake or not. We were up in Alaska a couple of years ago but did not see any of this type of stuff going on, but that doesn't mean anything. What we did see was a harsh way of life in the smaller towns. The same reason people enjoy HDTV. I think its all a bunch of bull, and can't stand it. Poisons the minds of home owners IMO.
I also like the buying Alaska series. Shocked that some of these places have no bathroom, running water, or electricity.
