Here's what I have, no problems storing a car on the lift. It's an eagle lift, 9K capacity. My only (minor) issue is getting lowered cars on it, I drive up on boards if needed. Floor for this particular one needs to be 4 inches thick, we made it 8 where the posts are just in case. I love it, makes working on the cars way easier.
