So it ends?

Just thougth I'd throw this back up for fun!

Got in touch with a gentleman about the spoon. Now, the spoon was presented to me as a very old relic of unknown origin. It originated from the titled side of the family. I have no reason to believe anyone was pulling my chain anywhere along this path.

So, this piece predates the gentleman, my namesake, who presented me with it. It is about 1900 Dutch souvenir and not a copy of an early piece. Decorative value only.

So far, crickets on the newspaper unless I am willing to donate. If I am donating I have several dozen who would LOVE to add this to their collection as their only copy.

So ends this foray. Now to move on and view 18th and 19th century British and American furniture and 1950s French copies. Oh, and some copies I have that were made by a relative in the '30s that have fooled "experts" as to their authenticity. I know better and could not allow such a ruse to go forth, but it might be fun for an Antiques Roadshow???
