Maybe call the local PD and/or Intuit itself, and ask a detective if they're willing to let you use their contact info for a sting.
Then write a response: "Oh my gd, please don't close my account. What do I do to fix this? I'll write to your address. Contact me at _[PD/Intuit]_"

They prosecute kids who copy movies to the ends of the earth.
Why not bank fraud? It's only slightly more important.
Why isn't this Public Enemy #1?
