I bought an 84 Cab widebody, guards red, new top, g50 trans, with fresh rebuild(runs awesome) for $18K. It's a great car, I don't drive it everyday, but the price range, and body style was hard to pass up; not to mention its RED!!
You might consider something newer to drive daily, and you'll spend money on no matter what you buy on knickknack stuff(door handles, keys, window motors, visors, lights, etc).. but the 80's cars drive great, look timeless, and surprisingly on mine, all the electronics worked and still do!
In a nutshell, it really depends on the car, where it's from, and obviously who owned it!
Does it have to be air-cooled?
