It seems like anything I was going t suggest involves driving or has already been mentioned. I really think the best value would be to rent a beach house in the Florida panhandle. That area is a bit less traveled, and after you are there, you can just hang out with your toes in the sand, do some BBQs, throw a ball around with the kids, and have amazing sunsets.
Very little driving involved with a trip like this, and you'll have $$ leftover for going to dinner or souvenirs.
