i agree that it would probably be easier to start with a cab. the trunk lid is already done for you, as is the rest of the body line. it stuns me that they never made a removable hard top for the cab (though i saw a photo of one many many moons ago. i hate hatchbacks, and most fastbacks, and wish they made a real coupe. hatchbacks were very popular back then though, and very practical, so i get it.
