Hey SS,
Well until this past Sunday I had nothing too exciting to report. Been traveling like a stray dog for work and despite the fact that a few bits that were out for paint had been returned, I hadn't done much reassembly.
I forgot about powder coating my gas cap and the franken bolts for the luggage. Because I want to start riding sooner rather than later I plan to pick up a spare gas cap as not to delay project completion any longer. OEM gas cap was reinstalled and is going to remain silver for a little while.
Also, I picked up an HID headlamp conversion kit late last week. I plan to disassemble the headlamp housing and change the silver surround to the same metallic magnesium color used on the frame. Installation of the HID kit and the surround color change can also wait. I have obtained a spare headlamp housing and am investigating the best way to open it so I can paint inside.
Sunday following turkey day I parked myself in the garage and spent almost 8 hours working on my R1200S project. She is still not complete yet but I am very pleased with the progress.
This is the first picture that I have taken with my Surface. My wife got me a Surface as an early Christmas present because my old personal laptop died. Sorry about the image quality, I will take and post some proper pictures with a quality camera when the project is complete.
Remaining to do items before I can ride:
1. install HPE exhaust
2. apply 3m clear guard (required for chin fairing)
3. install chin fairing
4. adjust LSL bars and finish installing hand controls
5. drill bars after determining optimal control position
6. change clutch fluid and bleed system
Hope everyone had a pleasant holiday, if no surprises pop up I should be riding this weekend.
