Interesting topic that I've been thinking about as well. I recall reading in another thread that there are very few safes that cannot be easily cracked in a matter of minutes by a true pro, therefore you should focus on one that provides adequate fire protection and install it such that an amateur cannot easily remove it. Any truth to that? Obviously building your own bank vault would be the exception, but most of us (me) aren't keen to spend $25k for a safe.
