Hello everyone.
Helping a friend with his car.
Unable or very difficult to get into reverse and a few of the gears....
Transmission is fine. Transmission mount looked fine. Engine mounts are shot but not the culprit...
So I am thinking that this must be part #26 on the diagram... since when they go bad they give this type of behavior... inexpensive parts that I can order from the local dealer... So I order 2 #26 and, since I am there, why not change the 4 #6 bushings as well.
I get to work, take everything apart and see that the condition of #26 is normal.

So I take off the two covers (front and back) to check the condition of the shift linkage. Turns out the rear bushings in the universal joint are toast (at least one is)... I can't find a replacement part number for it... and it would be a sin if the whole linkage needs to be replace for this...
Plus the way the bushings are inserted I have no idea how that pin is removed... the bushings are installed from the inside and the pin does not look like it can be pushed out.
Anyone knows of a replacement bushing available for this?? Thank you.

Oh! Forgot to mention... the fun part was that my son (6 year old) helped getting all the 10mm nuts and bolts off the bottom covers. I should have taken photos of him doing the work... safety glasses, apron (the one they get a Lowes when they do their projects), and used his own tool box... woohoo!
