Sorry to bag you guys for so long before responding. I bought shower liner pvc stuff. Looks plenty thick and durable enough - probably thinner than the roof valley stuff and no more thick than the shower floor repair material.
I will use the special heavier duty hot tub oatey PVC glue and the liquid vinyl on the edges will be good insurance. I have to rustle me up some acetone for cleaning.
Cost was $6 for a linear foot so if this is the wrong stuff, I am not out much. Worst thing that happens is that it peels off or cracks and I start over.
