Buy a good fire proof med size gun safe. 400 to 800 dollars depending on size and how fancy. Bolt to wall and floor in a closet preferable in a corner area as it is harder to get leverage against it. You will be surprised the stuff you will want to secure in it once you have it and you feel so much better about leaving valuables behind that cant be replaced if lost. I hear you on the watches.... Some are family heirlooms. Insurance can't replace them.
I have seen good buys in places like Costco and SAMs from time to time
