It looks as if the side plates can be easily removed for color case hardening. Turnbull is the best but theres also a place in Cody that does a great job...two guys who used to work for Ballard but opened their own place. Ballard moved to Mi I think. All places will hand polish the pieces which is where the expense piles up.
