Boy getting the truck to Phoenix sure does bring it into driving range. Hard to resist.

The are some good guys there in the Phoenix area, then the Prescott Pose to the north for issues on the first day on the road. Lots of big open country after that.
Plus I do see a fit on Highway 395 in eastern Cal. for your truck, a real country road.

Give yourself 4 or 5 days, give the truck a through going over and check out there, put together a box of spares and tools, cell phone and AAA card , then make a cruise of it camping or staying at cool places along the way. Plan on short mileage days, big on fun. What a way to bond with your new truck.
