Weight of palletized SC engine?

EDIT - just weighed the engine I shipped. It was 503 lbs on a medium pallet with simple plywood walls and top - I was pretty much dead on with my initial estimate.

Original post:

Recognizing the potential variability in pallet weight...I am trying to ballpark the weight for shipping on my SC engine for sale.

It will be on a typical wooden pallet just a bit larger than the engine on either side, enclosed by plywood on all sides and the top. The engine will be complete with its exhaust and heat exchangers, tin, distributor, shroud, etc., missing only the CIS items.

In searching here, I see the typical weight for either a longhood-era or 3.2 Carrera engine is about 385 lbs. Perhaps take a little off for the CIS, then add back 80 lbs or so for the pallet? Maybe call it 500 lbs to be safe?

Someone has to have shipped a 911 engine on a pallet recently...
