As has been stated they are functional. To me the Carrera tail has always looked like and odd after thought with the lopped off ends and raised grill and it is bolted to the lid. Especially compared to the early turbo and duck tails. I would hang it on the garage wall and repalce it with a duck or early turbo tail.
