Popmec's jay Leno tranny oil
Hi, I own a 76 911s and haven't changed my tranny oil in only god knows how long. It's also tough from 1st to second, and vice versa, just like most antique gear sets. However, today I read an interesting article from popular mechanics by Jay Leno. Apparently he adds a quart of Red Line MLT 70W80 GL4 to his gear boxes, which makes them feel much better. The stuff supposedly has an interesting coefficient of friction, and acts as a synchronizer. Has anybody used it, or think its a good idea? And though its probably been gone over 1 million times, if I use a quart of this, what tranny oil is the go-to for our old German machines? Thanks
How about use in a 2002 BMW, can't hurt can it?
