Just did rear pads on the Highlander....same thing outer pad gone and about half left on the inner. Slides were ok not great but after the wire wheel treatment and grease should be ok.
Of course i had to replace the rotor because no one bothered to tell me they were making noise until too late

replacing rotors is a pain and an unnecessary expense, usually.
