My 86 944 have in last time a very rought iddle when cold.The car goes one day fine,the other day rougt and loss of power.The fuel mileage was poor and i can't understand wher is the problem.The car when was cold it have a big white smoke on the exaust.The white smoke dissapere when i resolve the problem.
So after a periodical tune up the car did not start,then have an intermittent no start problem,then dies after a short trip.
I try all i know with this car and everything was fine so after 3 houre of all possible conbination i resolve my car problem.
The wires on the injectors(all 4) are broken inside the gum insulating piece!
My friend on a 84 944 have same sintoms and after the same control his wiring is also broke.
After i change the wires the car run beutiful,smouth and with more power.The idle was great(last year was horrible)So if you short the injector wires the car dies and don't wont to start!
Now i suppouse that all car that have 20 or more years with a 150.000 miles or so probably can have this problem.
