Good on you for at least making an effort! My trash guys leave a mess in the street, so I'm not very inclined to tip them.

We live in a similar neighborhood with no thru traffic, but I've seen all too much evidence of the sort of people that prowl it at night. Leaving your garage door open is nearly a guarantee that stuff will be missing in the morning, we've put items like old furniture out for trash only to find it gone the next day, and cars with exposed valuables are sometimes broken into. Sadly crime has no address....
