I highly recommend JBL from the era. I forget the name but they are well known. A buddy of mine had some in college and it was THE perfect 1970's sound. Fat, solid bass. Led Zep was perfection.
On the other hand, I have some Advent Towers that you can have for free. They are mid - high level speakers but need a refoam job. They would be sweet but they don't have 12" woofers!
Good luck! What is the model of Marantz? BTW, there is an audio shop at 102 and Halsey that is into this type of work.
