The question here is what would we do if we actually had him in US custody? Would he be hanged? life imprisonment?

Me personally, I say we throw him in a hole and bust out Papillon style on him. Limited rations, no sunlight, but if he starts to die, we keep him alaive at all costs. it is a worse fate for him to live than to die.
