Yes, significant discount. However, we've seen even '69Ss converted to short hood, so the underlying car is part of the equation.
Note there were several different ways to convert to short hood. The worst/cheapest/cheesiest way is the most reversible. The high quality conversions used the front tub section from a later car and cost thousands more to "rightdate."
Cab conversions were popular in the late 80s. Momentarily. Some were done using flat iron bars to make the top frame instead of the elegant and pricey factory framework. They are a hard sell now.
The 3-time loser in the modified world is the slantnose widebody cab conversion, which seemed always to be done on a '76 or '77 Targa. Most of those should be considered parts cars.
