Pff, I've done tons of redneck-style repairs on Porsches. When my muffler straps were shot, I replaced them with super-long stainless steel hose clamps for a few bucks each. 5 years on and they're still fine. And getting the muffler on and off is WAY easier. My brake fluid overflow tube was missing and all I had on hand the day I discovered it was short piece of fuel hose, so I clamped that on and ran it into an old coke can which I mounted somewhere in the dark recesses of the area. Still there to this day, and works fine. When I had the 944 there was a pinhole leak in the gas tank. I drained it and jb-welded a piece of scrap metal to the bottom. Worked just fine.
