I, too, am now an advocate for Google/Trimble Sketchup after several folks on Pelican recommended it to me. I just dropped off my garage design done in Sketchup to a contractor in order to obtain some quotes. This product has a pretty quick learning curve; however, I purchased a new 'Google Sketctup 7 for Dummies' off Half.com for a massive price of $2.95 (plus $3.49 for shipping) in order to speed up my learning curve. Although Sketchup 8 is out, I bought the Sketchup 7 version of the book since it is loads cheaper. It looks as if they are even cheaper now at a whopping cost of $1.45 new.
