It's taken about a year to get the cash together, but now the anticipated repaint and restoration process has begun!!!!! Dropped off my '89 S.A. Edition Coupe with Mr. John Holt at Hot Wheels Imports yesterday so the Master can get started on making her brand-spanking new again. We'll be spraying Glasurit and the interior will get a complete makeover.
I spent a good deal of time interviewing many paint shops and I can say, without any reserve, that I finally made the proper connection with a Pro shop. Great guy to talk to ........very knowledgeable gent that's certain to produce professional results. No doubt this guy will deliver the goods.
There are many boxes of brand new stuff that will go on the car (to the tune of ~$6K) and she'll look like she came off of the showroom floor when I'm done.
Now comes the work of planning on the materials for the interior resto. Glad there's some good threads out there on this very subject....I just need to select the proper supplier of the BEST materials out there. I would welcome any comments relating to anyone's experiences with particular material sources.
An exciting venture,..and a stressful one, at that.
Will keep you guys updated on my processes. Luckily, a PP member 'round here does work there part time and will be assisting me with gathering pics (as I'm located a hundred miles South of John's shop). John has agreed to take a few pics here and there, as well.....
STOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's the first pic from John...light work, of course,..but provides a high degree of excitement knowing the process has actually begun!!!!!!
BEST to all!
