Hey, stop the cracks about middle aged women on boards. I learned when I was 35. My snowboard instructor was a 24 year old male. He told me that he doesn't see a lot of women learning, let alone "older" ones. Thanks, kid.
I bought a board and love it! Yes, learning was pure heck. I definitely think if I was younger I would be much better at it and my learning curve would be steeper. But to tell you honestly, I just love to be up there. Carving and cruising the hills. Nothing fancy. I love watching the kids in the park though. Some amazing stuff.
I did a couple hard face plants trying to learn my toe edge. On time I thought I broke my googles and nose because I hit it so hard but didn't. Thank God I had my helmet for a couple of those falls. I seriously wouldn't doubt that I would have had a concussion without it. Yeah, you don't have to be going fast to eat it. HARD.
