I'll probably ditch the entire system when we get a public gas line next summer. I can't find a reason for keeping them after that, power consumption is just to high. The best I can get is about 89 deg out of the system on optimal days, but a gas furnace does 130+, so we will as I said likely be ripping it out. ymmv.

You have a refrigerant charge problem. I have seen outlet temps well over 100 in Michigan at 17 outside!
I would agree that gas heat rocks...but have a qualified tech look at your refrigerant charge.
